About Wise Old Duck

When I was a student at Montana State, a friend and I would occasionally take a few slices of bread over to a pond on the campus and feed the ducks there. If we went from one side of the pond to the other, the ducks would also swim back and forth - seemingly at our whim! Except for one large duck, who just floated there and watched us. We declared that he was the 'Wise Old Duck', and a great mythology was spun about him. Eventually he united the horses from the trailers, many ducks, and some other animals to lead a grand revolution.

I'm not a quack. I worked several years as a software engineer before I started Wise Old Duck. I wrote software to facilitate using GPS for cartography and vehicle tracking at GeoResearch, Inc. Later, I did development with Lycos on the Sonique media player, and on other media playback and presentation applications for America Online. I became a Microsoft Certified Professional and Microsoft Certified Solution Developer in 1999 and 2000.
